Dr. Kevin James is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in back pain and neck pain. His commitment to providing orthopedic care in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex is part of his heritage. Dr. James grew up in the Dallas area and attended Newman Smith High School in Carrollton, TX, where he excelled in basketball and track. Dr. James went to college at Southern Methodist University, where he studied electrical engineering and graduated magna cum laude. During his junior year at SMU, Dr. James had ankle surgery. That experience catapulted him into his passionate pursuit of practicing medicine. As a back pain and neck pain specialist, Dr. James is devoted to providing top quality spine care using state-of-the-art equipment and the most advanced surgical techniques. He offers non-surgical and surgical treatment options in treating an managing back pain.
Dr. Prager is an experienced orthopedic surgeon who has practiced in Texas since finishing his training. His undergraduate degree was obtained at the University of Pittsburgh where he obtained his B.S. in the Honors program of Biology. As a native of New Jersey, Dr. Prager attended medical school at New York Medical College. While at medical school Dr. Prager became interested in orthopedics and completed his residency at Wayne State University in Detroit. Always having an interest in sports, Dr. Prager then received a fellowship in sports medicine and arthroscopy at Saint Frances Medical Center of the University of Illinois. He also completed an A-O Trauma fellowship at Queens University Medical Centre in Nottingham, England. Dr. Prager is an assistant clinical professor at the University of Texas Southwestern School of Allied Health.
Since 1985, Dr. Prager has practiced in the DFW metroplex. He has been a neutral physician for the NFL for the past 13 years examining players from numerous teams including the Dallas Cowboys. Dr. Prager has been team physician for several high school football teams as well as the Texas Tornado Hockey team. He also has a special interest in football injuries and has published and presented at national meetings. One of Dr. Prager’s interests is minimally invasive surgery. He continues to pursue his studies in this area.
Recreational activities include tennis, skiing and staying fit.
Dr. Prager and his wife, Diane, have two children.
A Dallas native, Dr. Stuart attended Mesquite High School where he played football for the Skeeters and graduated as Salutatorian. He then attended Austin College in Sherman, Texas, where he graduated summa cum laude with a BA in Spanish. Returning to Dallas, he completed medical school at UT Southwestern before heading south for residency in orthopedic surgery at UT Medical Branch in Galveston. After residency, Dr. Stuart completed a one-year fellowship in sports medicine and arthroscopy at the renowned Southern California Orthopedic Institute (SCOI) in Van Nuys, California.
Specializing in arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, hip, knee, and ankle, Dr. Stuart also performs joint replacement, ligament reconstruction, cartilage restoration, and general orthopedics. While at SCOI he was trained in advanced surgical procedures such as arthroscopic allograft rotator cuff reconstruction for massive rotator cuff tears and Latarjet reconstruction for shoulder instability.
Dr. Stuart has a special interest in medical missions and has treated patients in the Yucatan and Juarez, Mexico, as well as Machala, Ecuador. He also served as an emergency responder when Hurricane Ike ravaged Galveston Island in 2009.
